Mitskevich Vladimir Fedorovich (1920 – 1983) 

    Vladimir Fedorovich was born on January 21, 1920 in the village of Yurovichi, Kalinkovichi district.

    In 1939 he graduated from Gomel Zootechnical College; in 1940 – military air technical school. Since 1939 he served in the Red Army, a participant in the Great Patriotic War. In the post-war period he worked as an instructor at the Tambov regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks ( b ). Since 1949 – in the Minsk regional committee of KP ( b ) B, oblast executive committee. Since 1950 – the second, then the first secretary of the Smolevichi district committee of the KP ( b ) B. From 1955 – Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, from 1962 to 1968 – First Secretary of the Grodno Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Bolsheviks. Since 1968 – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Communist Party of Bolsheviks, member of the Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bolsheviks. Since May 1974 – First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR. Since 1976 – member of the Central Audit Commission of the CPSU.

   Mitskevich V.F. was awarded with many orders and medals, was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Councils of the USSR and the BSSR. Wherever Vladimir Fedorovich worked, he left a good mark, he always put a simple person in the first place, his interests. Walked on the ground by the owner of – prudent and sensible, stepping firmly and confidently. Early, in the prime of life, life broke off in the prime of life, much he had not yet had time to do for Belarus and its people.

   The name of V.F. Mitskevich was also assigned to the passenger motor ship of the « Rocket » Verkhne-Dneprovsky river shipping company of the Main Directorate of the River Fleet under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR.                                                               

Milestones of History

    «Polessky state farm - technical» was organized by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR № 307 dated September 25, 1973 and entered into operation of existing educational institutions ( technical schools ) according to the order of the Ministry of Agriculture BSSR № 331 dated July 10, 1980.

 By a resolution of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR of April 8, 1983 № 116 «On perpetuating the memory of V.F. Mitskevich» The Polessky state farm-technical organization was named after Vladimir Fedorovich Mitskevich, a political and statesman of Belarus.
