The ethnographic museum of Belarusian life and folk crafts "Belarusian hut" is an important component, an integral part of a single educational process. It is designed to ensure the formation of students' knowledge and skills about folk arts and crafts, the work of folk craftsmen, broadening their horizons and increasing the amount of knowledge within the framework of the Belarusian national and world culture. Mastering the basics of museum work, familiarity with the specifics of various professions, crafts, folk crafts in the process of local history research have a certain impact on the professional orientation of students.
The museum presents and draws attention to those universal values lost by society, which are threatened by modern progress, preserves them as a historical and cultural heritage, contributing to the continuity and continuity of generations and cultures. The museum also acts as a converter and translator of spiritual and material values, projecting what is preserved in the future, educating new generations, realizing the unity of the past and present in the history of mankind.
Museum "Belarusian hut" was founded in October 1999 by a teacher of the Belarusian language and literature Babina Anna Leonidovna, who for more than ten years, together with students, collected exhibits for the future museum.
The exposition is located in the dormitory No. 2 of the college and represents the interior of a peasant house, where various household items and tools of Belarusian peasants, samples of weaving, clothes, pottery are placed. The museum has more than two hundred exhibits, which make it possible to see the village house of the late XIX - early XX century Kalinkovichi district, which allows you to get acquainted with the culture and life of the region.
At first glance, the hut is the most ordinary building. The peasant, building his dwelling, tried to make it durable, warm, comfortable for life. However, it is impossible not to see the need for beauty inherent in the Belarusian people in the arrangement of the hut. Therefore, the huts are not only monuments of everyday life, but works of architecture and art.
Here there is the same order that is observed in nature, everything is harmonious and perfect. The ceiling was associated in folk representations with the sky, the floor - with the earth, the underground personified the underworld, the windows - light.
Today, the museum is a real cultural center of the college - practical classes are held here in the discipline "Belarusian literature", it has become a tradition to conduct sightseeing tours for groups of a new set. Tours are led by student guides.
